Halloween & Thanksgiving

Cheerful Pumpkins

I made these pumpkins in three sizes, a bit like a family with a Papa, Mama, and Baby. Oddly enough, all our trick-or-treaters this year were in family groups, too. We had gypsies, pirates, and two ballerinas. No pumpkin costumes, though.

Chubby Witch Fingers

I tend to shy away from the really macabre part of Halloween and focus on the cute and humorous. But this year I couldn’t resist making these ghoulish Chubby Witch Fingers. I think it was the “Yikes!” factor that reeled me in.

TKO Skeleton Cookies

Graveyards, coffins, scary cats, spooky dogs, and creepy pumpkins are all present at this year’s Halloween party. I almost scared myself when I cast my eye over these TKO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies. EEK!

Chocolate-Filled Jack-O’-Lanterns

These irresistible chocolate-filled sandwich cookies are shaped like Jack-o’-lanterns and pack a lot of warm spices into a small bite. The flavors are the perfect beginning to the Fall cookie season.

Halloween Cookies

Ghosties and Jack O’Lanterns, cats and bats, mummies and monsters...this strange holiday has become one of the most popular ones in our culture. I must admit that it’s not my favorite holiday, but cookies must be made!

Día de los Muertos

The elaborate designs for el Día de los Muertos has always intrigued me. So I decided to decorate my Halloween cookies to match this age-old Mexican tradition of honoring the dead.

Halloween Sandwich Cookies

Cutout cookies regularly take on a new identify the minute you pipe an embellishment on them. Sandwich cutout cookies need no such embellishments to add charm to the Halloween fun.

Jack-o-Lanterns & Ghosts

Halloween marks the beginning of the holiday cookie-baking season for me. Ghosts and black cats, Jack-o’-lanterns and bug-eyed bats...all those spooky shapes need to be turned into sweet treats.

Turkey Mania 2020

Thanksgiving was a little crazy this year so the cookies had to be a little crazy, too. These goofy birds fit the bill while bringing smiles and providing a pleasant sugar rush.

Let’s Eat!

Thanksgiving Cookies

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because everyone seems so happy and relaxed...nobody’s stressed out (except for the turkey!) and the simple gathering of family and friends to share a meal is all it requires.

Turkeys for Dessert!

Thanksgiving is the ideal time to celebrate the decorated cookie. No one really expects cookies for Thanksgiving dessert so it’s the perfect holiday to surprise them with cookie deliciousness.

The Mighty Acorn Cookie

Acorn-shaped sugar cookies have become a welcome addition to my Thanksgiving cookie plate. The Classic Sugar Cookie with Chocolate Royal Icing makes a “mighty” tasty bite.

Chocolate Sandwich Cookies

Leaves can inspire cookies at Thanksgiving. When they’re turned into dark chocolate sandwich cookies, they make delicious treats to accompany the feast.

Thanksgiving Desserts... Gobble, Gobble!

Yes, I do bake more than cookies. This Gingerbread Bundt Cake is a great Thanksgiving dessert and the warm Fall spices are my great nephew’s favorite flavors.
